While others tend to fall in line as Stevie Ray Vaughan wannabes, Gomes decided to get his schooling first hand and relocated to Chicago to learn from the masters. Included as part of that education was the realization that the Blues life is about being bound to the highway, and having an endless commitment to touring to get the word out. Indeed it was a lesson that Gomes learned well, and has kept him top of mind for talent buyers, record buyers, and fans alike. The end result has been a realization of significant record sales and Gomes being a fixture on the concert and festival circuit.
